As a continuation of Evolution, Toast focuses on the physical attributes of charcoal. Eight square burnt wooden panels, displayed in two rows at eye height, attracting the viewers gaze through a black, void, of light absorbing charcoal, disrupting the plain white walls within the space.

Hung on the wall, the charcoal panels are intended to be viewed as paintings, except the work has an element of smell. The burnt panels are positioned together in close proximity to enhance the burnt aroma of the charcoal. The prominent aroma, invites the viewer to approach the work, this close proximity to the work emphasises the pattern and textures of the charcoal.
